Engineering OutcomeThe Client
A leading retail distributor managing inventory across multiple locations and a growing network
PrimeMart Distribution is a growing Nigerian retail and distribution business supplying fast-moving consumer products through eight retail locations supported by two central warehouses and a distribution fleet. As the company expanded its footprint, inventory volumes increased significantly. Products moved continuously between suppliers, warehouses, retail locations and delivery vehicles, but inventory information was maintained across different systems and reporting processes.
Warehouse teams maintained stock records, branch teams reported their own inventory positions, and vehicle movements were recorded separately. Management relied on periodic stock reports and physical reconciliations to establish the actual inventory position of the business. The growth created a fundamental management problem: the company had inventory, but leadership could not see where that inventory was, how quickly it was moving, or whether recorded stock accurately reflected physical stock.
The Challenge
Fragmented inventory data made it difficult to track stock levels, identify shortages, and make timely replenishment decisions
PrimeMart's management lacked a reliable, consolidated view of inventory across its warehouses, branches and distribution operations. A product could be purchased from a supplier, received into a warehouse, transferred to a branch, loaded onto a vehicle and eventually sold to a customer. However, information about these movements was not always visible in one place.
How Delovox helped a growing Nigerian retail and distribution business unify inventory information across branches, warehouses and vehicles, reduce stock uncertainty, and give leadership greater control over working capital.
The Goal
Create real-time inventory visibility across locations to improve stock management, replenishment, and operational efficiency
PrimeMart engaged Delovox to establish a centralized intelligence capability that would give management a reliable view of stock across the entire operating network. The engagement focused on moving the organization from periodic inventory reporting toward continuous inventory visibility and control.
Ultimately, the company wanted to ensure that management could answer: what inventory do we have, where is it, and where should it be?
The Solution
A modern cloud-based data warehouse with automated ETL, centralized inventory data, and real-time reporting
Delovox began by conducting an inventory data and operational process audit across the company's warehouses, branches and distribution operations. Rather than replacing the company's existing operational systems, Delovox designed a centralized inventory reporting architecture that connected available inventory information into a unified management environment.
Executive dashboards
Executive dashboards showing stock levels, stock movements, stock-out risks, excess inventory and inventory ageing.
Exception monitoring
Exception monitoring to highlight abnormal inventory movements and significant stock variances.
Comparative location
Comparative location analysis to identify branches with excess inventory and locations requiring replenishment.
Automated inventory
Automated inventory reporting to reduce dependence on manually compiled stock summaries.
The Result
Centralized inventory visibility, faster stock decisions, and improved control across multiple retail locations
Following implementation, PrimeMart transformed how management monitored and controlled inventory across its operating network. Management no longer depended solely on periodic stock reports and physical reconciliations to understand the company's inventory position. Instead, leadership gained a centralized view of stock across branches, warehouses and inventory movements, enabling faster intervention when stock levels or movement patterns changed.
